Spread the Love with Your #UltraHug Selfie and Huggies

huggies sponsored post

I love when big brands launch campaigns that truly reach communities and end up making a difference in one way or another. The Huggies #UltraHug Selfie campaign is aiming to do just that by giving away ten $2,000 community grants…and you can help!

In association with the new Huggies Snug & Dry Ultra diapers, which are available now at Walmart, Huggies is urging all parents to take an #ultrahug selfie with their baby and nominate a community project that is important to them.

How to Enter

Huggies Spread the Love

1. Nominate your community project by uploading a selfie of you and your baby to Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #UltraHug.

2. Be sure to include details in your social posts about the project you are nominating and why it is important to you.

3. From April 20th until June 25thHuggies will be accepting all selfies of you and your baby with the hashtag#UltraHug, and featuring them in a collage on the campaign landing page.

4. On July 6th, voting will begin to narrow down the 20 finalists to 10 winners who will win a $2,000 grant from Huggies for their nominated community initiative.

Such a great campaign – and who doesn’t love a good selfie with their baby?? :) Don’t forget to try Huggies Snug & Dry Ultra Diapers for yourself by visiting your local Walmart or Walmart.com.

Family Sleep Event with Jenni June

I don’t know about you, but the number one piece of advice I received before having a baby was, “sleep as much as you can now because when she arrives, sleep will be a thing of the past.” I didn’t fully appreciate this advice until I actually became a mom and “sleep” became a favorite pastime. Uncasked Brew Fest at Westfield UTC

What do you get when you pair the best brewers in San Diego with delicious eats and a fun photo booth? These are the ingredients that made up the Uncasked Brew Fest that I attended yesterday at Westfield UTC.

The Setting

I have been to “Brew Fests” before, but I must say this was easily my favorite – largely due to the event setting. There were 4 different beer gardens (all named after neighborhoods in San Diego: Encinitas, Little Italy, Gaslamp and North Park – I just loved that) found throughout the plaza of the Westfield UTC mall. Each beer garden featured two breweries paired with a restaurant – quenching your thirst and satisfying your appetite all in one setting.

Westfield UTC

The Brews

8 local breweries provided tastings at the event, including: Stone Brewing Co., Mother Earth Brew Co., Rock Bottom Brewery, Karl Strauss Brewing Company, Helm’s Brewing Company, Acoustic Ales Brewing Experiment, Rough Draft Brewing Co., and Mike Hess Brewing.

My good friend (also a new mom) is one of the owners of Mother Earth Brew Co. so I invited her to join me on a Mom’s Night Out. We supported Mother Earth Brew Co. with some awesome t-shirts that were also quite appropriate for two new moms! #LoveYourMother

Mother Earth Brew Co.

Helm's Brewing Company

The Food

Season’s 52, PIRCH, Tender Greens and Eureka! Gourmet Burgers & Craft Beer provided samples of some of their delicious dishes and snacks. Some of my favorites included the Truffle Fries from Eureka! Gourmet Burgers & Craft Beer, the Red Mole Braised Tacos from Season’s 52 and Beef Medallions from PIRCH. And although Season’s 52 wasn’t offering samples of their desserts, they showcased a dessert display on their table and it looked incredible (I’m always easily distracted by pretty desserts.)

Season's 52

The Fun

The Social Cycle was also on display. I’ve seen this fun “party on wheels” cruising around Downtown San Diego and always wondered what it was all about. Essentially it’s a 16-passenger, Dutch-style bicycle that is pedal-powered by its riders. Apparently you can rent this out for bar crawls, birthday parties or sightseeing around San Diego and they service Downtown San Diego, North/South Park, Bankers Hill, Hillcrest and Pacific Beach.

If there’s ever any sort of photo booth at an event, you’ll find me waiting in line to take photos. I LOVE photo booths. But the SD Photo Bus took my love to a whole new level. The booth is actually a mobile VW Bus with fun props inside, different filters to choose from and you can even text message or email yourself with the final photo strip. You seriously NEED THIS for your next event or wedding, people! I’m obsessed!

Overall, great event at the Westfield UTC mall!

Baby Bloggy Bootcamp

This post is written by me on behalf of Liz Lange and Ergobaby.  Product was provided.

I originally found out about the Baby Bloggy Bootcamp in San Diego last month from the trusty Rookie Moms (I just love those two) who were also speakers at the event. After looking at the line-up and learning that we could bring our babies to the actual conference, I was eager to attend!

Baby Bloggy Bootcamp

The day was full of helpful information that pertained especially to new bloggers and mommy bloggers (which hit home for me in both categories). It was so much fun to be in a room filled with fellow women bloggers who were also mothers. Talk about a sense of camaraderie. I especially loved the tips from Tiffany Romero and Francesca Banducci (Founders of Sits Girls) about the key components that should be found on every blog – from SEO tips and tricks to best practices for sponsored content. I found it all extremely helpful.

baby bloggy bootcamp

The Swag

I’m all about swag, especially when it’s really, really good swag – like the products we all received at the Baby Bloggy Bootcamp.

ErgoBaby really spoiled us all with a new Ergobaby 4-position 360 Carrier, Ergobaby Swaddler and Ergobaby Wrap.

ergobaby

The new Ergobaby Four-Position 360 carrier is amazing. As you may have gathered from its name, it offers 4 different positions including a new, front-facing position. During the conference, Ergobaby demonstrated how to use this new product – which I found very helpful, even though it is extremely easy to use! I tried it out with Blake as soon as we got home and she fell right asleep in the comfortable carrier – snug as a bug in a rug! I can’t wait until she gets a little older so I can try the front-facing position.

Ergobaby 360 carrier

We also received a beautiful Liz Lange maternity dress. The fabric on this dress is so soft and very figure flattering for your baby bump. This is weird to say, but it made me want to be pregnant again! Having the baby bump is so much fun. And although I’m not currently pregnant, I know firsthand how hard it is to find luxury, stylish maternity pieces that are also affordable. I’ll definitely be putting this Liz Lange dress to good use during my next pregnancy and will happily check out the rest of their maternity clothing line, available at Target.

I also loved the samples of Honest Diapers, which I’ve been wanting to try on Blake for a while, and the cutest (and most delicious) candy I’ve had in a long time, from Sugarwish.

All in all it was a wonderful event and I hope to attend another Sway Group event in the near future.
